According to the latest update from the association, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,286, reaching Rs357,319. Similarly, the rate of 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs1,179, now standing at Rs327,554.
Experts say this rise is due to higher international gold prices and changes in the interbank exchange rate, which directly impact local gold rates.
In the global market, gold prices went up by $15, reaching $3,955 per ounce. Analysts believe the increase happened because of investor uncertainty over global financial conditions and inflation concerns, leading many to invest in gold as a safer option.
On the other hand, silver prices moved in the opposite direction. The price of 24-karat silver per tola dropped by Rs20 to Rs4,929, and 10 grams of silver fell by Rs17 to Rs4,225.
Globally, however, silver prices rose slightly by $0.20, reaching $48.30 per ounce.
