While talking to the BBC, he said, United States must halt all military strikes against Iran to enable diplomatic negotiations to resume. Speaking to the BBC, he stated, "We do not want war. We want to engage in dialogue."
Ravanchi revealed that the Trump administration has shown interest in returning to talks through intermediaries, but expressed concern over the lack of clarity regarding US intentions amid ongoing attacks. He highlighted the importance of the US clarifying whether it will continue military actions during negotiations, labeling this as a "very important question."
Iran maintains that its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes is non-negotiable, dismissing allegations of secretly pursuing nuclear weapons. "The capacity can be discussed, but to say you should have zero enrichment and threaten to bomb us—that is the law of the jungle," Ravanchi asserted.
US officials, including President Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, have indicated that discussions over Iran’s nuclear program are in their early stages. Trump also echoed these remarks recently.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed recent reports of potential negotiations, stating, "No agreement or plan has been made to start new talks."
In last he added that, no specific date has been set for negotiations and that the US must clarify whether it intends to pursue aggression or serious dialogue.
On a questioned proposals for Iran to reconsider its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief, he emphasizing that Iran’s enrichment activities, including to 60%, are solely for peaceful purposes.
