Talking about it, Tabish Hashmi said, “My father moved to Pakistan in 1984. He was well settled in India, he was doing a good job there but his brothers were settled in Pakistan; they suggested him to move to Pakistan. My grandmother was sick when she asked my father to finally move to Pakistan. My father shifted to Pakistan, his sacrifice was not that big, he just left his job, the real sacrifice was given by my mother who left all her family because her father’s family was already in Pakistan. My elder sisters were born in India and I was born in Pakistan”
While discussing how his father got Pakistan’s nationality, he said, “At that time, it was easy to settle in Pakistan after showing investment in the form of dollars or money, my father had the money, so we got the nationality”
