Saudi Arabia has announced a public holiday on September 23 to celebrate its 95th National Day with grand festivities across the kingdom.
The day marks the historic decree of King Abdulaziz, the founder of modern Saudi Arabia, who unified Najd and Hejaz to form the kingdom. National Day was first observed in 1965 under King Faisal, and in 2005 King Abdullah declared it a permanent holiday.
This year’s celebration will take place under the theme “Our Pride is in Our Nature,” which reflects Saudi Arabia’s cultural traditions and natural heritage. The General Entertainment Authority explained that the theme represents Saudi values of hospitality, courage, dignity, generosity, and strong spirit.
The celebrations will include fireworks, drone shows, aerial displays by the Saudi Hawks, along with cultural programs, traditional dances, and exhibitions. Major cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam will host large events, while key landmarks and buildings will be lit up in green to mark the occasion.
Every year, Saudi citizens and residents take part in the National Day with enthusiasm, waving the national flag, wearing green, and celebrating their history and heritage with pride.
