Pakistan has successfully played a result-oriented and effective mediating role in easing tensions during the US–Iran conflict, further strengthening its image as a key guarantor of peace in the region.

Following these developments, Pakistan is being widely discussed and recognized on the global stage, while claims of attempts to diplomatically isolate the country are being described as unsuccessful.

According to The New York Times, Pakistan’s senior leadership played a significant role in maintaining the ceasefire and facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran. The report highlights that Islamabad helped sustain communication channels between the two sides during a highly sensitive and volatile phase.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts, stating that it has delivered “incredibly effective mediation,” and stressed the importance of continuing diplomatic engagement through Pakistan in such critical regional matters.

Former Pakistani ambassador to Iran, Asif Durrani, noted that Iran places limited trust in several international actors, which has positioned Pakistan as a crucial and reliable channel for mediation in the ongoing situation.

Singapore-based broadcaster Channel News Asia highlighted Pakistan’s rising diplomatic importance, describing it as a “wake-up call” for India. The report further noted that aggressive and nationalist narratives promoted in regional media have contributed to deepening hostility towards Pakistan.

Well-known analyst Dr. Aparna Pandey stated that Pakistan has consistently utilized its geographic and strategic significance in engaging with global powers, a factor that continues to enhance its diplomatic relevance in contemporary geopolitics.

International observers suggest that despite Pakistan’s growing recognition for its diplomatic role, competing narratives and regional political tensions continue to influence global perceptions. However, Pakistan’s position as a mediator in sensitive geopolitical issues appears to be steadily strengthening on the international stage.
