The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts more rain and mountain snowfall for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this week. A westerly wave is impacting the western and upper regions of the country and is expected to continue for the next few days.
As a result, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, and other areas may experience rain and mountain snowfall on Wednesday night, Thursday, and Friday. Heavy rain and snowfall are likely in specific areas like Dir, Chitral, Swat, and more during this period. The snowfall could affect transportation on January 31st and February 1st, so tourists are advised to be cautious.
Peshawar's minimum temperature is expected to range between 8-10 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 7-9 degrees Celsius on Friday.
Over the last 24 hours, most areas of the country had cold and cloudy weather. Some parts experienced rain with isolated snowfall. Rainfall measurements include Dir (Upper) 13 mm, Kakul 09 mm, and various other regions.
Kalam was the coldest place in the country with temperatures dropping to 7 degrees Celsius below freezing. In Islamabad, the minimum temperature recorded was 7 degrees Celsius, with a morning relative humidity of 87 percent.
