Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in Asia Cup Super-Four

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match, successfully chasing the 134-run target in the 18th over.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first. Sri Lanka scored 133 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Kamindu Mendis was the top scorer with 50 runs, while Asalanka (20) and Karunaratne (17 not out) also added useful runs. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets, while Haris Rauf and Hussain Talat grabbed 2 each.

In reply, Pakistan’s openers gave a steady start. Sahibzada Farhan made 24, and Fakhar Zaman scored 17. However, the middle order stumbled, losing quick wickets as Sri Lanka fought back. At one stage, Pakistan had lost five wickets, and the match looked tense.

Hussain Talat (32 off 30) and Mohammad Nawaz (38 off 24) played responsible innings to guide Pakistan to victory. Both remained not out and secured the win in the 18th over.

With this win, Pakistan strengthened their position in the Super Four stage of the tournament.
