Recently, Rabi Pirzada appeared on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast, where she discussed her marriage proposals and addressed the rising divorce rate in Pakistan.
Talking about proposals, Rabi Pirzada said, “I get a lot of proposals daily, we receive a lot of messages on Rabi Pirzada Foundation about proposals. Every second message I get is about a marriage proposal. I think people are after glamorous showbiz girls and it should not be I like that, I would like to urge the men to think about the girls around them, they are simple and beautiful girls who are waiting for the proposals, they are way beautiful than the actresses. Boys should consider them for marriage, they should value the simple girls. It has become a problem in our society, boys say that the girls don’t value us because we don’t have a good source of income and job and the girls often report that they can’t get marry because they don’t have dowry”.
Discussing about increased in divorce rate, Rabi said, “Women nowadays don’t bear injustice. Besides this, the dramas are the biggest reason behind the increased divorce rate, now every Pakistani drama is showing an arrogant wife who is ignoring her handsome, caring and rich husband for no reason, she spit on him, she leaves home, she is not accepting him, she’s behaving rudely with him and it has become a fashion to reject a good husband in the dramas. I don’t remember the names of the drama but every drama shows an arrogant wife and it is leaving a negative impact on people’s minds”.
