This month is especially solemn due to the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A.), the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and many of his family members and companions.

In keeping with the month’s reverent nature, Muslims typically avoid celebrations and gatherings. However, several Pakistani celebrities have recently posted pictures of themselves at parties and on vacations, sparking controversy. Among them are Fatima Effendi, Nida Yasir, Humayun Saeed, Yumna Zaidi, Sonya Hussyn, and Sarwat Gillani.

Actress Noor Bukhari, known for her outspoken views, has once again criticized these celebrities for not respecting the sanctity of Muharram. She highlighted the insensitivity of enjoying vacations and parties during a time meant for mourning and reflection. Noor Bukhari’s comments have reignited the debate about public figures' roles in observing religious and cultural norms.
