Mawra Hocane erased from “Sanam Teri Kasam” poster, fans react

• Mawra Hocane's Bollywood debut, "Sanam Teri Kasam," initially underperformed.
• The film's recent re-release and successful box office performance renewed India's love for her.
• The makers of "Sanam Teri Kasam" are working on a sequel, with Mawra Hocane rejoining the cast.

“Sanam Teri Kasam” marked Mawra Hocane’s Bollywood debut. Although the film initially underperformed, Mawra didn’t appear in any further Bollywood projects due to the ban on Pakistani artists. Throughout her career, she has consistently advocated for peace and harmony, never engaging in jingoistic rhetoric like some others. When the film was recently re-released and performed exceptionally well at the box office, it reignited India’s love for her. Mawra expressed happiness over the film’s renewed success.

The makers of “Sanam Teri Kasam” are working on a sequel, and initial discussions included Mawra Hocane rejoining the cast. However, after the war began, her co-star Harshvardhan made hateful remarks against her and publicly stated that he no longer wanted to work with her. Mawra responded strongly, saying she couldn’t believe someone would use a war for personal PR. Now, the team has started removing her from the film’s posters.

Spotify has replaced the old “Sanam Teri Kasam” poster with a new one that excludes Mawra Hocane. Here is the previous and updated poster for the film:

The internet is finding the situation extremely hilarious. One user joked, “They wanted to remove Pakistan from the world map, and now they’re removing Mawra from a film poster.” Another pointed out, “Mawra is a bigger star than that guy—no one even knows him.” A netizen added, “Try removing her from the film as well.”
