Iqra Aziz respond to copying Saboor Aly's wedding dress controversy

Iqra Aziz gained fame with the drama serial Mol and Suno Chanda.
She recently appeared in a popular drama serial Mannat Murad.
Aziz revealed the reason behind wearing the same dress in her husband Yasir Hussain’s show.

Iqra Aziz, a highly praised Pakistani television actress, gained recognition since her debut in the media industry with the drama serial Mol. She rose to fame with her iconic hit drama serial Suno Chanda, and her notable works include Jhooti, Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, Raqeeb Se, and Qurban.

Recently, fans appreciated Iqra Aziz in a popular drama serial Mannat Murad. However, she became embroiled in controversy when a wedding scene from the drama went viral. In the scene, she wore the same Faiza Saqlain outfit that Saboor Aly had worn on her wedding day. Saboor Aly publicly addressed the situation, calling out Iqra for wearing her wedding dress.

Recently, Iqra Aziz appeared in her husband Yasir Hussain’s show where she revealed the reason behind wearing the same dress.

Discussing about the scene, she said, “Actually we wanted a traditional dress because it was our director’s demand. We didn’t find any traditional dress even after thorough searching. My director shared this picture with me, after searching, I found out that it was by Faiza Saqlain. We approachd Faiza Saqlain. I requested her to change the shirt because I didn’t want it exactly the same. I kept the duppata and Gharara the same because we could not change it completely. We also kept the jewellery simple and traditional.”

She also added that “I designed the whole look. I won’t say that I copied her but I was truly inspired by her look because she was looking so so beautiful and I wanted to look as gorgeous as her. I personally felt that Mannat should look like her. I thought that I should not inform anybody for taking an inspiration, also, it was technically not her dress, I took it from the designer. I didn’t know it will become a big issue, otherwise, I would have asked her because I am a people pleaser”. She further said that she took inspiration from Priyanka Chopra for her wedding dress too.”

Talking about meeting with Saboor Aly in future, she said, “I think this should not be an issue at all, we should not even talk about it, we should skip it and move on and I feel bad about it, if she felt sad but I am not apologetic”
