During an interview, Humayun shared his perception that the character might have drawn inspiration from Munna Bhai. He discussed this with Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, who expressed that it was understandable for him to feel that connection.
Qamar assured him that as the story progressed, it would evolve into something entirely different, and eventually, they both began to sense that transformation taking place.
He also discussed Zarnab's action of slapping Munna and whether it was justified. He mentioned being highly impressed by Zarnab's bravery and fearlessness, seeing it as a demonstration of her being unafraid of Iqbal Munna, which ultimately made him admire her even more.
