The Sindh government has announced December 27 as a public holiday to mark the death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the first female Prime Minister of a Muslim-majority country.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), led by Bhutto’s family, will hold various events across the country to commemorate her legacy. These events aim to celebrate her contributions to the nation and her influential role in politics and society.
A major gathering will take place at the Bhutto family’s ancestral home in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, with additional rallies, memorial services, and prayer sessions. Discussions on her leadership, vision, and sacrifices for Pakistan will also be held.
Benazir Bhutto was tragically assassinated in a bombing on December 27, 2007, which left a deep mark on Pakistan’s political landscape.
