The Sindh Education Department has declared January 28 as a holiday for all schools, colleges, and educational institutions across the province to observe Shab-e-Miraj. This holiday will be observed in both public and private institutions.
The holiday is part of the annual observance of Shab-e-Miraj, which celebrates the Prophet Muhammad’s night journey and ascension. The closure of schools and colleges allows students and staff to observe this important religious occasion without academic duties.

Shab-e-Miraj takes place on the 27th night of Rajab, the seventh month of the Islamic calendar. This year, the observance will be on January 28, as confirmed by Sindh’s authorities.
This is the second religious holiday in a short time in Sindh, following the holiday on December 18 for Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The government often declares holidays for major Islamic events, in line with the region's cultural and religious customs.
The notice has been sent to district education officers and school heads to ensure everyone follows the holiday schedule. Parents and students are encouraged to keep an eye on official updates for any further information.
