Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that security forces killed 29 militants in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) followed by calibrated strikes targeting terrorist hideouts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
In a post on X, Tarar said that the strikes were carried out in the aftermath of recent multiple terrorist incidents inside Pakistan against the innocent people of Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Balochistan and Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Camp in Karachi.

Security forces carried out a planned intelligence-based ground operation in Bajaur on June 28 against militants linked to the Indian-backed Jamaat-ul-Ahrar group and Fitna al-Khawarij, according to Tarar.
During the operation, a senior militant commander, Khan Farosh alias Zabal, along with three other militants from Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, was killed. Several others were also injured.
He said that under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, security forces also launched precision strikes overnight between June 28 and 29 on terrorist camps and hideouts in border areas. Three locations in Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar were hit, killing 25 militants. Weapons and ammunition stored there were also destroyed.
The minister added that Pakistan is committed to peace and stability in the region but will not compromise on the safety of its people.
He also said that the counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy will continue at full strength to remove foreign-supported terrorism.
He noted that terrorist activity in Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, increased after 2021 when the Afghan Taliban took control of Afghanistan.
He further said Pakistan started Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, in which many Afghan Taliban-linked militants were killed and hundreds were injured.
He added that in October 2025, clashes occurred along the border after attacks on Pakistani posts by Afghan Taliban-linked militants.
