PMD Forecast: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted the possibility of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rainfall in different areas of Pakistan.
The department has forecasted that Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and northern Punjab are expected to face thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain.
In the evening or night, lower KP, northeastern Balochistan, and central and southern Punjab are expected to see gusty winds, thunderstorms, and rainfall, with a few areas potentially receiving very heavy downpours.
The Meteorological Department has also stated that Islamabad and its surroundings are expected to have hot weather during the day, followed by thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rainfall at some places in the evening or night.
Areas likely to experience these weather conditions include Murree, Gilgit, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Kasur, Lahore, Okara, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, and Narowal, where thunderstorms and rainfall are expected in some locations.
During the night, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Taunsa, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, and Bahawalpur are likely to experience thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rainfall, with the possibility of heavy downpours at certain locations.
Similarly, the areas of Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Peshawar, Mardan, Karak, and Kohat are also expected to see thunderstorms and rainfall at some places.
The PMD has forecasted thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rainfall for the evening or night in several locations, including Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Most districts in Balochistan are anticipated to have hot and dry weather. However, in the evening or at night, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rain are expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Sherani, Kohlu, Musakhel, Loralai, Sibi, Nasirabad, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, and Barkhan, with a chance of heavy downpours in some areas.
