ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday to inquire about his health, news reported.
The prime minister conveyed his best wishes to the president and prayed for his swift recovery, stating that the entire nation was praying for President Asif Ali Zardari.
Earlier, Dr. Asim Hussain shared an update on President Asif Ali Zardari’s health, stating that he is showing signs of improvement while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Karachi.
Dr. Asim Hussain added that President Zardari’s blood test reports showed a positive trend. “A team of infectious disease experts visits the president thrice daily to monitor his condition,” he added.
Dr. Asim Hussain praised the decision to transfer President Zardari from Nawabshah to Karachi for treatment, calling it a wise move. He also expressed hope that President Zardari would be discharged from the hospital within a few days.
“Due to coronavirus concerns, restrictions have been placed on visitor access,” Dr. Hussain added. Dr. Hussain assured that the medical team is regularly updating the president’s family about his health status.
President Zardari, who also serves as the PPP co-chairman, was transferred from Nawabshah to a hospital in Karachi on March 31 after experiencing health issues.
Doctors moved him to the hospital in the city after he developed a fever due to an infection. Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon dismissed reports about President Zardari’s health and stated that he was recovering. In a post on X, Sindh’s senior minister rejected speculation about President Zardari’s transfer to Dubai, calling the reports inaccurate.
Asif Ali Zardari, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman, assumed office as Pakistan’s 14th president on March 10.
