Pakistan's new government is all set to reveal new petrol prices for second half of March 2024, which could help consumers by dropping costs at gas stations.
The new pricing structure, planned to be unveiled on the evening of March 15, is predicted to bring down the cost of petrol by Rs5, setting the new price at Rs274.61 per litre. Similarly, diesel prices are likely to see a reduction of Rs4.81, bringing the cost down to Rs283.12 per litre. These revised prices will be effective from March 16, 2024.
This expected decrease in fuel prices bring into line with the current downward trend observed in the international market, where Brent crude futures have seen a 0.4% drop to $81.82 per barrel.
As it stands now, the per litre price of petrol is Rs279.62, while high-speed diesel is priced at Rs287.33.
