KARACHI: Pakistan national team players are unlikely to participate in the entire Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025 owing to overlapping international commitments.
According to sources, most of the players selected for the BPL squads are part of the national team, making it difficult for them to commit fully. While some permanent members of the T20 squad may not be granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs), each player’s case will be reviewed individually.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not outright denied NOCs for the BPL, but teams are aware of the situation and may arrange for alternate players accordingly.
The BPL 2025 is scheduled from December 26 to January 23, during which Pakistan is set to tour Sri Lanka and later host Australia for a home series at the end of January.
The selected Pakistani players for the BPL include Saim Ayub, Khawaja Nafay, Sufyan Maqeem, Sahibzada Farhan, Muhammad Nawaz, Jehandad Khan, Ehsanullah, Haider Ali, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Amir. Among them, Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Muhammad Nawaz, Usman Khan, and Abrar Ahmed are permanent squad members.
Pakistan will play three T20 matches at Dambulla Stadium on January 7, 9, and 11 as part of their Sri Lanka tour.
