Karachi: Karachi is expected to experience partly cloudy weather today, with the Meteorological Department forecasting scattered showers and drizzle across the city.

The maximum temperature is recorded at 32°C, accompanied by high humidity levels of 83%. Winds from the northeast at 11 km/h are expected to influence the weather, while neighboring regions in Sindh may also encounter scattered rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has announced the commencement of the second monsoon spell starting next week, beginning July 5, which is expected to bring widespread rains across the country.

This upcoming monsoon is anticipated to affect the entire nation, with heavy downpours forecasted in various regions.

Recent heavy rains over the past two days have resulted in tragic consequences, with eight lives lost and seven individuals injured in incidents related to the adverse weather conditions.

Authorities have issued alerts across the country warning of potential flooding and related emergencies.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has projected increased rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours, warning citizens of possible flood situations in several cities. Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to face heavy rains and storms, with some areas in Gilgit-Baltistan at risk of flooding due to melting glaciers.
