MQM leader Syed Hafeezuddin, in an interview with Bol News, stated that a commission should be formed for K-Electric, adding that K-Electric and KMC have destroyed Karachi.
He mentioned that K-Electric was supposed to provide a subsidy for COVID-19, but it continued to seek stay orders from the court. As the Chairman of the Standing Committee, when I call for a meeting, they do not show up. K-Electric has now been given a final notice, and a commission should be formed for K-Electric.
However, MQM Member of National Assembly, Hassan Sabir, in an interview with Bol News, stated that K-Electric has extracted copper from wires and sold it, and that long power outages are being carried out even in winter. He also criticized the management of K-Electric as incompetent.
The MQM leader appealed to the court, stating that K-Electric’s license was renewed, and it should be reviewed. He urged the higher judiciary to take notice of K-Electric’s actions. He mentioned that the incompetent management remains unaffected by protests, and electricity is cut off if the bill is not paid for a month.
Hassan Sabir further mentioned that KMC charges are also being collected through K-Electric, and additional surcharges are being levied on Karachi residents for electricity. He asserted that K-Electric has failed in Karachi.
He added that there is no example of such injustice by K-Electric towards Karachiites. Despite lower electricity consumption, there is no availability of electricity, and K-Electric’s incompetence has been evident since 2004.
