Jamaat-e-Islami emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has announced a complete nationwide strike on April 26 to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Gaza.
At the Gaza Million March in Islamabad, Hafiz Naeem said that while the leaders may be silent, the Muslim community is fully aware and active. He strongly criticized those from Pakistan who visited Israel and warned that making alliances with Israel or the United States could bring serious problems. He said that Palestine is not just a political matter—it is a matter of faith.
He called for a Hamas office to be opened in Pakistan and praised the people of Palestine for their great sacrifices. He also mentioned that global support for Gaza is increasing, with positive actions seen in places like Spain and California.
He described the struggle in Gaza as a symbol of hope for oppressed people everywhere and urged Muslim leaders to come together, despite their differences.
“We don’t seek conflict with police, “ he added, “but if the rulers don’t wake up now, we will be forced to tread that path.".
