The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast intermittent rains with isolated heavy falls in Karachi, Hyderabad, and parts of Sindh from Monday night through Wednesday.
This weather pattern is due to a depression currently located west of Madhya Pradesh, India, moving westward. As a result, strong monsoon currents are penetrating southern Pakistan and are expected to extend into the northern regions by evening or night. Additionally, a trough of westerly wave is affecting the upper parts of the country.
Under these conditions, various regions in Sindh, including Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, Islamkot, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Mityari, Sanghar, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Naushahro Feroze, are expected to experience intermittent rains.
Some areas may also see heavy falls during this period, which could lead to flooding or inundation in low-lying areas of Sindh and potential flash flooding in local nullahs and streams in Dadu.
In Karachi, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 35-37°C on Tuesday and 33-35°C on Wednesday. In Hyderabad, temperatures are likely to be between 38-40°C on Tuesday and 37-39°C on Wednesday. The last 24 hours saw hot and humid weather in most districts of Sindh, with isolated rain-wind/thundershowers occurring in the lower parts of the region.
