BANNU: A militant attack targeted the Peace Committee office in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the deaths of seven people and injuring one.

According to police, militants opened fire on the office located in the Hawayd area during the night. The victims were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemning the attack by Fitna al-Khawarij at the Peace Committee office in Bannu, expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the attack.

In a statement, he prayed for the elevation of ranks of the departed souls in Jannah and for patience for their families.

He directed the relevant authorities to identify those responsible and ensure they received due punishment.

“Such cowardly acts, aimed at sabotaging peace efforts, expose the evil intentions of the Fitna al-Khawarij to create unrest in Pakistan,” the prime minister said adding that these cowardly actions could not, at any cost, weaken the resolve of the people.

“The entire nation stands united for the defeat of anti-state elements,” the prime minister added.
