KARACHI: The local court on Saturday sent Sarim Burney to jail on judicial remand in a human trafficking case.
Social leader Sarim Burney was detained by FIA on charges of human trafficking and fraud. He was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate East on completion of a two-day physical remand.
Further physical remand of the accused was requested by the FIA investigation officer and it was said that the mother Afshin had sold the baby girl to a woman named Madiha, and later Madiha sold the baby girl to another woman Bushra. The Sarim Burney has declared the girl an orphan in family court.
The investigating officer said that the accused was not cooperating in the investigation. He is not answering the question correctly, there are more than 20 victims who have to be identified but the accused is not cooperating.
The court ordered the FIA investigating officer to record the accused's statement and sent Sarim Burney to jail on judicial remand and said that the bail application of the accused will be heard on June 10.

After hearing the arguments, the court rejected FIA's request and sent Burney to jail on judicial remand.
