RIYADH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is keen to further strengthen Saudi investment and trade relations.
In a statement posted on X, the Prime Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman upon his arrival in Riyadh. He said the exceptional air escort by the Saudi Air Force was a reflection of the depth of Pakistan-Saudi relations.
PM Shehbaz added that the cordial reception by Saudi forces symbolized the mutual respect between the two nations.
He termed his meeting with the Crown Prince as both pleasant and productive, covering discussions on regional issues and bilateral cooperation.
The Prime Minister praised the visionary leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his services to the Muslim world. He reaffirmed that Pakistan seeks to strengthen Saudi investment and trade, praying that Pakistan-Saudi friendship continues to reach new heights.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for London after concluding his state visit to Saudi Arabia.
Deputy Governor of Riyadh, Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, saw him off at Riyadh Airport.
The prime minister visited the Kingdom at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman signed the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement between the two countries.
This agreement, which reflects the shared commitment of both nations to enhance their security and to achieving security and peace in the region and the world, aims to develop aspects of defense cooperation between the two countries and strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression.
The agreement states that any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both.
