LAHORE: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a warning of heavy rainfall across the province in the next 24 hours.
According to a heavy rainfall , the seventh spell of the monsoon is proving to be stronger than earlier phases. Under this system, heavy downpours are expected in various parts of Punjab, while upper Punjab may experience torrential rains along with the risk of cloudbursts.
The spokesperson said that all relevant departments have been placed on high alert to deal with any potential emergency. Citizens have been advised to exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay away from low-lying areas prone to flooding.
Meteorological officials further warned that intense rainfall could increase the water flow in rivers and nullahs, raising the risk of flash floods in vulnerable regions.
It is to be noted that the death toll from the rains and floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has exceeded 320, where more than 150 people were flooded in Buner alone.
After the cloud burst in Bajaur, several villages were taken to the village and residents fell, animals and vehicles were also flowed in the flood rails, while an emergency was imposed in Buner.
Meanwhile, a helicopter of the KP government, which was going for relief activities, was crashed yesterday, in which 5 people were martyred.
