RAWALPINDI: Pakistan conducted a successful training of the Abdali Weapon System, as surface to surface missile with a range of 450 kilometers as part of Exercise Indus.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), purpose of this experiment was to ensure the practical preparation of the military forces and to test the technical aspects of the missile's modern navigation system and enhanced manoeuvrability.
Training launch was witnessed by commander army strategic forces command, officials from Strategic Plans Division, seniors of the Army Strategic Forces Command, and scientists and engineers from strategic organizations of Pakistan.
The President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the heads of the three armed forces congratulated the troops, scientists and engineers who participated in the launch.
The expressed his full confidence in the professionalism and technical proficiency of Pakistan’s Strategic Forces to ensure credible minimum deterrence and safeguard national security against any aggression," the ISPR said.
