On the other hand, Israel has condemned the recognition announcements by Canada, the UK, and France, calling it a reward for the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, and stated that such declarations would harm efforts for a ceasefire and the return of hostages.
Meanwhile, the White House also stated that President Donald Trump believes recognizing a Palestinian state would be a reward for Hamas — one that should not be given.
