MEXICO CITY: Colombian musicians Byron Sánchez (31) and Jorge Herrera (35), who went missing last week in Mexico, have been found dead, foreign media reported.

Authorities have launched an investigation into their deaths and possible homicide. The news has deeply concerned fans and the music community in both Mexico and Colombia.

The two artists were last seen in Polanco, an upscale neighborhood of Mexico City, before they disappeared. Following their disappearance, the President of Colombia had appealed to the Mexican President for assistance in locating the missing musicians.

In response, Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs pledged full cooperation, assuring Colombian officials of a transparent and thorough investigation into the case. The incident has sparked public concern over safety, especially for foreign nationals in the region.

“This is a heartbreaking loss. These two young men were not just musicians they were voices of a generation,” said a fellow Colombian artist in an emotional tribute posted on social media.

The tragic news has triggered an outpouring of grief across both Colombia and Mexico, with fans, artists, and cultural institutions expressing sorrow and demanding justice. While details surrounding their deaths remain under investigation, the incident has underscored rising concerns over violence in areas once considered safe.
