KARCHI: The city is currently in the grip of a severe heatwave, with weather conditions expected to remain extremely hot and dry starting on Thursday.
According to forecasts, the mercury may surpass 40 degrees Celsius, raising concerns over public health and safety.
Authorities have advised citizens to take special precautions during the hot spell, warning of a heightened risk of heatstroke under these extreme conditions.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 29.8°C, with humidity levels also reaching 61 percent. Sea breezes are completely suspended in the city, while sea breezes will partially recover in the evening. From today, hot and dry strong winds will blow from the southeast in the city. Wind speed will be 25 to 35 kilometers per hour.
Today the weather will remain completely clear, however, there is no possibility of rain. As Karachi faces intense heat and dry weather conditions, health experts have issued important guidelines for public safety: avoid direct sunlight, especially between 11 AM and 3 PM, when temperatures peak, stay hydrated by consuming cold and refreshing drinks.
“Be aware of heatstroke symptoms, which may include a sudden severe headache and high fever. If any symptoms appear, seek immediate medical attention at the nearest hospital. Individuals with sensitive health conditions or respiratory illnesses are at higher risk and may experience worsening symptoms”.
The citizens advised to consume simple meals and increase their intake of vegetables to help cope with the extreme weather.
