LAHORE: The Lahore High Court(LHC) annulled the victory notification of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Member Punjab Assembly Rana Arshad from PP-133, Nankana Sahib.
Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court issued a written decision on Muhammad Atif's petition.
The court decision said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) cannot use Clause 6 of Section 95 of the Election Act, the Returning Officer had refused to recount the votes and had issued Form 47 and sent recommendations for Form 49. The ECP cannot invoke Clause 6 of Section 95 of the Election.
The court invalidated the notification issued by the electoral body on April 9.
The Lahore High Court said in the decision that according to the lawyer of the ECP, the court cannot interfere in the authority of the electoral body.

It should be remembered that Rana Muhammad Arshad of Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz was declared successful in Punjab Assembly Constituency PP 133 after recount and independent candidate Muhammad Atif filed a petition against his success.
