PIA Privatization: The privatization process of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is moving swiftly, with the first bidding round scheduled for early August. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for transparency throughout the process.

Economic Development Plans: The government plans to stimulate the economy by supporting small and medium-scale industries and boosting domestic exports. Efforts also being made to eliminate elite privileges and ensure economic security and equal development opportunities for all citizens.

Humanitarian Transit Approval: The cabinet approved the transit of a container with truck parts from Karachi to Kabul, Afghanistan, on humanitarian grounds.

Inter-Ministerial Cooperation: A memorandum of understanding between Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance has approved to foster collaboration.

Additional Approvals: The cabinet confirmed the appointment of the Executive Director of the Frequency Allocation Board and approved the National Economic Council’s annual report for the financial year 2022-23 for presentation in Parliament.

Focus on Economic Stability

The government is taking decisive steps to bolster the economy, particularly by fostering the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and enhancing domestic export capabilities. This strategy aims to reduce economic disparity and provide equitable development opportunities across the country.

Legislative and Economic Coordination

The cabinet approved decisions from recent meetings of the Economic Coordination Committee, the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases, and the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises. The Prime Minister has also instructed all ministers to be present in Parliament during the Budget 2024-25 debate to enable thorough discussions and decision-making.

This comprehensive strategy highlights the government’s dedication to economic stability, transparency, and sustainable development, aiming to benefit the common man and ensure long-term growth for the country.
