Ottawa: In a joint statement issued at the G7 summit in Canada, member countries expressed support for Israel and held Iran responsible for destabilizing the region.
An international news agencies reported, the communiqué called for de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East, a resolution to the crisis involving Iran, and a ceasefire in Gaza. The G7 also emphasized the importance of protecting civilians in all conflict zones.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump declined to sign the final G7 communiqué, objecting to sections that appealed for reducing tensions between Israel and Iran.
