ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police established Pakistan's first Cybercrime Investigation Unit.
The inauguration of Cyber Crime Investigation Unit within the Pakistan police department has been officially established as part of Islamabad Police’s efforts to strengthen the fight against cybercrime.
This milestone initiative comes on the heels of amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), empowering Islamabad Police to register cybercrime cases under Section 30.
On the other hand, the technical assistance of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will also be obtained in the investigation.
Moreover, the first phase of training of 60 officers of Islamabad Police has been completed with the support of FIA.

Earlier, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Peshawar arrested two suicide bombers belonging to the ISIS-K from the Matani area on Friday.
The terrorists were planning to attack the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the Awami National Party (ANP) president Aimal Wali.
