PESHAWAR: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Kohat zone has taken significant action by arresting the suspect involved in the 2025 boat tragedy.
The suspect, Riaz Hussain, has been identified as a resident of Kurram.
FIA composite circle Kohat has reported that, the suspect was apprehended after the suspension of his pre-arrest bail from the Special Court Immigration Center.
Meanwhile, the investigations revealed that the suspect had extorted 3.6 million rupees from a citizen to send him to Europe for employment purposes. However, instead of Europe, the suspect took the citizen to Libya.
After reaching Libya, the suspect and his accomplices attempted to illegally transport the citizen to Europe via boat. During the journey, the boat encountered an accident, resulting in the death of the citizen.
According to the FIA, five of the suspect's bank accounts have already been frozen, containing approximately 6 million rupees.
The suspect has been arrested, and an investigation has commenced. Raids are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices.
