TEXAS: The death toll from the ongoing storm-related flooding and torrential rains in the U.S. state of Texas has risen to 120, as extreme weather continues to wreak havoc across the region.
According to American media reports, relentless rainfall and flash floods have been battering parts of Texas for over a week, causing widespread destruction and severely disrupting daily life. Roads have been washed away, homes inundated, and thousands displaced.
Emergency response teams are working around the clock to rescue stranded individuals and provide shelter and medical aid to affected communities. Authorities have declared a state of emergency in several counties and urged residents in flood-prone areas to evacuate immediately.
According to the report, the area of Kerr County has been the most affected by the rains and floods, where 96 bodies have been recovered so far, including 36 children.
According to US media, relief operations are underway after the flood, but more than 170 people are still missing.
