GUJRAT: In a shocking incident of animal cruelty, unidentified individuals severed the legs of a buffalo in Jalalpur Jattan, police said.
The owner of the buffalo, who relied on the animal as the family’s sole source of livelihood, has demanded the arrest of those responsible.
A case has been registered.
Earlier, in a shocking act of animal cruelty, three men allegedly severed a camel’s leg and dragged the injured animal with a tractor for more than a kilometer in the Saleh Pat area of Janoji, Sukkur.
According to the camel’s owner, Ghulam Mustafa Shambani, the thirsty animal had wandered to a pond belonging to a man named Malik Umar to drink water.
Enraged, Malik Umar’s employees identified as Qurban Brohi, Rasool Bakhsh Sheikh, and Mustafa allegedly attacked the camel with an axe, cutting off its leg.
The owner further stated that the men then tied the wounded camel to a tractor and dragged it for about 1.5 kilometers before abandoning it. “When we reached the spot after hearing its cries, the camel was lying in a pool of blood,” Shambani recounted.
The incident has sparked outrage in the area, with calls for strict action against those involved in the brutal assault.
