The registration procedure for transgender persons under the Benazir Kafalat Programme has been officially outlined.
The government’s flagship social welfare initiative, designed to provide financial assistance to poor and deserving families, has now been expanded to include the transgender community.
By becoming part of the programme, transgender community will be able to receive regular financial support, with authorities highlighting that the registration process is simple and accessible.
The transgenders first enroll in NADRA identity card as a transgender. Then enroll in the dynamic survey at the Tehsil Office near the Benazir Income Support Programme(BISP0. After receiving the message from 8171, your Benazir sponsorship will be issued.
The transgenders is part of this society and it is the government's responsibility to take care of the this community.
The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has clarified that in order for transgender persons to receive financial assistance under the scheme, it is mandatory for their gender to be registered as transgender on their NADRA-issued Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
The BISP further emphasized that all official communication with beneficiaries is carried out only through the number 8171. Any messages received from numbers other than 8171 should be considered fake and unauthentic.
