Selena Gomez announced her engagement to Benny Blanco, and wishes have been flooding in for the couple. Taylor Swift, Gomez’s best friend, commented on the engagement post to reveal the role she would play in the wedding.

On Wednesday, December 11, Gomez shared several cute snaps showcasing her engagement ring on Instagram. Swift expressed her excitement in the comments, writing, "Yes, I will be the flower girl."

The post featured a close-up picture of the ring, a shot of the "Only Murders in the Building" actress sitting on a mat with a picnic setup in the middle of a garden—likely the spot where Blanco proposed—and a joyful close-up of Gomez wearing the ring.

The post also included a photo of Blanco embracing her from behind as she showed off her hand. "Forever begins now..." Gomez captioned the post. Blanco commented, "Hey wait… that’s my wife."

The excitement of the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker is understandable, given her decades-long friendship with Gomez. Their bond reportedly began in 2008 when Gomez started dating Nick Jonas, and Swift began seeing his brother, Joe Jonas.

However, the Maroon 5 singer wasn’t the only one congratulating the happy couple. Jennifer Aniston commented, "HONEY!! Congratulations sweet mama!" Lil Nas X shared his excitement by writing, "OMMGGGGG CONGRATSSS AHHH."

Suki Waterhouse congratulated the "beauty," and Cardi B expressed her disbelief over the news, writing, "Waiiiitttt hold on," followed by shocked face and heart emojis. Emily in Paris actress Lily Collins commented, "Ahhhhhhhh yes yes yes!! Best news ever. Couldn’t be happier for you both."

Before they started dating, Blanco and Gomez collaborated professionally on the 2019 song “I Can’t Get Enough”, joining forces with Tainy and J Balvin.

In August 2023, the singer released her song “Single Soon”, produced by Blanco, and months later confirmed their relationship by liking fan account posts about them on Instagram. At the time, she commented under one of the posts, "He is my absolute everything in my heart."
