Sean "Diddy" Combs will face a jury today, May 5, as his federal sex trafficking trial officially begins. Authorities have accused the rapper of involvement in sex trafficking and alleged connections with minors. As the trial kicks off, strong evidence presented by prosecutors may make it difficult for Diddy to win over the jury.

Since the case began, the public has largely viewed Combs as guilty. His pre-trial image is expected to heavily influence today’s proceedings, as finding a truly unbiased jury remains nearly impossible. Each juror likely enters the courtroom with preconceived opinions about the case.

Previous media reports revealed that the rapper’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, plans to take the stand and testify against Combs. Ventura was the first to accuse him of assault and rape during their decade-long relationship.

Reports indicate that the jury will also consider the topic of race during the trial. The judge, rather than the lawyers, will directly question the jurors.
