Rapper Nicki Minaj has openly expressed her support for President Donald Trump, calling herself his “No. 1 fan” while committing between $150,000 and $300,000 to a government-backed savings initiative during a Washington appearance.
Minaj attended a Treasury Department summit on Wednesday alongside Trump and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to promote the so-called “Trump accounts,” a program designed to encourage early wealth-building for children.
Addressing critics of her political stance, Minaj said, “The hate or what people have to say does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.” She noted that access to a program like this could have significantly changed her own life.

Trump accounts, officially known as Section 530A accounts, were established under recent tax and spending legislation. The program automatically deposits $1,000 into an investment account for every child born between 2025 and 2028, provided parents opt in while filing taxes.
Details of how Minaj’s donation will be distributed have not been confirmed, though reports have speculated it could benefit her fanbase, the Barbz. Neither Minaj’s team nor the White House has clarified the specifics.
During the summit, Trump praised Minaj, calling her “the greatest and most successful female rapper in history” and thanking her for her generous contribution.
Minaj has become increasingly outspoken in her support for Trump, despite previously stating in 2020 that she would not “jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon.” She also appeared last month at Turning Point USA’s annual conference.
Treasury Secretary Bessent noted that roughly 600,000 families have enrolled in Trump accounts since the start of the 2026 tax season.
