For an entire generation, glittering stage lights, blonde wigs, and the unforgettable phrase “You get the best of both worlds” defined childhood.

Hannah Montana wasn’t just a Disney Channel show it became a cultural phenomenon that shaped playlists, friendships, and dreams around the world.

Two decades later, the magic still lingers, proving that some pop-star alter egos never truly fade they simply grow up with us.

Now, Miley Cyrus is returning to celebrate the legacy that launched her into global stardom. The “Flowers” singer is set to appear in the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, premiering on Disney+ on March 24, 2026.

The commemorative program, announced on February 17 through an official Disney+ press release and a teaser shared by Cyrus on X, was filmed before a live audience. It features an in-depth conversation between Cyrus and podcaster Alex Cooper.

The special will also include previously unreleased archival footage, carefully reconstructed sets from the original series including the Stewart family home and Hannah’s iconic wardrobe along with familiar songs that defined an era.

Reflecting on the milestone, Cyrus described Hannah Montana as an enduring part of her identity. She noted that what began as a television series evolved into a shared experience that deeply connected her with fans worldwide.

Expressing pride in the show’s continued relevance, she called the anniversary celebration her way of thanking supporters who have stood by her for the past 20 years.

Originally premiering on March 24, 2006, Hannah Montana ran for four seasons and followed teenager Miley Stewart, who secretly lived a double life as pop superstar Hannah Montana.

The Emmy-nominated series became a global success, spawning platinum-selling albums and a 2009 feature film adaptation.

In 2024, Cyrus became the youngest-ever recipient of the prestigious Disney Legend honor, recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact on the company.

The anniversary special is produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions, with Ashley Edens serving as showrunner. Executive producers include Cyrus, her mother Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Alex Cooper, and Matt Kaplan, while Cooper also hosts the special.

To build anticipation, Disney+ will launch a streaming marathon beginning February 19, featuring all four seasons of the series, Hannah Montana: The Movie, and the concert film Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert.

While speculation had circulated about possible reunion concerts or a tour, the confirmed anniversary special focuses on reflection, nostalgia, and celebrating the lasting legacy of a show that defined a generation.
