Starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, who played Jack Dawson, Kate Winslet's strong on-screen chemistry with him sparked widespread rumors of a real-life romance when the film premiered.

Kate Winslet recently shared behind-the-scenes insights about filming the iconic door scene in “Titanic”. During a Q&A at a screening of her upcoming movie *Lee* in New York City, Winslet recalled this famous sequence while speaking with Josh Horowitz, according to *People* magazine. She revealed that the water wasn’t as deep as it appeared on screen during the scene where her character, Rose Dewitt Bukater, uses a floating piece of the door as a makeshift life raft after the ship sinks.

The outlet noted that “Lee” actress Kate Winslet mentioned her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio likely developed "PTSD" from being repeatedly asked about the viral door scene. She admitted that filming the moment felt "awkward" because the water was only "waist-high" at the time.

Kate Winslet, the “Black Beauty” actress, recalled frequently asking for restroom breaks during the filming of the Titanic door scene. She explained that each time, she had to climb off the door, walk about 20 feet to the tank's edge, and then fling her leg over to climb back on again, describing the experience as "terrible." Winslet also mentioned that the water level was only waist-high, with DiCaprio "kneeling down." Jokingly, she added, "I shouldn't be saying this; Jimmy [James] Cameron's going to be calling me."

During her candid conversation, "Wonder Wheel" actress Kate Winslet reminisced about sneaking into a New York City movie theater with two friends to watch “Titanic” for the first time.

She shared that when the film premiered in London, she was suffering from "terrible food poisoning" and was hospitalized at the time, noting that when it came out in the U.S., she was attending the "funeral of a boyfriend."

Kate Winslet added, "I mean, it's a horrible thing to even think about now, emphasizing that she wasn’t going to miss the film's release. Winslet continued, "I sort of missed everything around the release of Titanic, which I don't know, is that the universe's way of protecting me or just reminding me to do the things that matter?"
