Hamza Ali Abbasi, a multi-talented figure known for his roles in popular Pakistani dramas like Pyare Afzal, Mann Mayal, and Alif, has recently added an unexpected title to his list of accomplishments – Nikah officiant. A video showing the actor officiating a couple’s Nikah ceremony went viral, with many fans expressing their amusement and admiration for his new role.
In the video shared by Bunty Khalid Photography on Instagram, Hamza, who is also famous for his roles in films like Jawani Phir Nahi Aani and The Legend of Maula Jatt, took on the responsibilities of a Maulana, reciting sacred verses and announcing the Haq Meher (dowry amount) on behalf of the groom.

The internet quickly buzzed with responses, ranging from humor to applause, with some even asking Hamza to officiate their weddings. One fan jokingly commented, “Itna handsome Maulvi, mera bhai nikah parha do – Such a handsome religious figure, do solemnize my Nikah as well, please.”
While many fans were supportive, some critics raised concerns, arguing that actors, despite their fame, may lack the necessary knowledge or cultural sensitivity to perform such a sacred role.
“Actors should stick to their profession. Nikah is a serious religious duty, and it should be performed by someone properly trained,” one user remarked.
However, it’s important to note that Hamza wasn’t claiming to be a professional Maulana. Instead, he was simply a friend stepping in to support his buddy on their special day, demonstrating that sometimes a kind gesture can go a long way.
