American Music Awards set for May 25 in Las Vegas, airing live on CBS and Paramount+.

Global K-pop icons BTS are once again dominating the international music scene, securing three major nominations at the 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs) just months after their powerful comeback album Arirang set global charts on fire.

The septet has been nominated for the highly coveted Artist of the Year, going head-to-head with global superstars like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny, and Lady Gaga a category where BTS already made history in 2021 as the first Korean act to win the title. Their return to this elite lineup has instantly reignited worldwide excitement.

Alongside the top honor BTS also earned nominations for Best Male K-pop Artist and Song of the Summer for their viral hit “SWIM,” further cementing their unstoppable comeback momentum.

Their March 2026 album Arirang has proven to be a chart powerhouse, producing multiple Billboard Hot 100 entries. The lead track SWIM soared to No. 5 and held its position in the Top 5 for three consecutive weeks, while other album tracks including Body to Body, Fya, 2.0, Hooligan, and Normal also made their mark on the charts.

The competition in K-pop remains fierce this year, with Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, and ATEEZ nominated for Best Male K-pop Artist. In the female category, powerhouse groups including BLACKPINK, TWICE, and aespa are also in the race.
