Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the relevant authorities to prepare a business plan for Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC).
Chairing a high-level meeting regarding matters related to PNSC here, the prime minister directed to acquire ships on lease to expand the PNSC fleet.
Prime Minister emphasized that approximately $400 million in valuable foreign exchange is spent annually on maritime trade from the national treasury, and a effective strategy should be developed to reduce this burden.
He directed that a comprehensive business plan be prepared within two weeks, which should include steps for leasing ships to expand PNSC's fleet.
The objective of this initiative is to strengthen the country’s maritime trade and reduce the financial burden.
