The federal government is anticipated to reduce petrol prices in Pakistan for the third consecutive time in June 2024. According to reports, petrol prices will decrease by Rs4 per litre due to a downward trend in international prices amidst the Middle East crisis.
Diesel prices are expected to fall by Rs3.5 per litre. The government will revise petroleum prices on the night of May 31, with the new rates effective from June 1, 2024, for the first half of the month.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will make the final decision on petroleum prices after reviewing proposals from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).
