KARACHI: Member of National Assembly and well-known TV host Syed Aamir Liaquat Hussain will be laid to rest on the premises of the shrine of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi beside his parent’s grave, BOL News reported.

As per details, Aamir Liaquat’s grave grounding was started yesterday in the shrine next to the graves of his father Sheikh Liaquat Hussain and mother Mehmooda Sultana.

According to MPA Jamal Siddiqui, Aamir Liaquat’s funeral prayers will be offered today after Friday prayers.

He said that Aamir Liaquat’s funeral prayers will be offered near the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi when his son will reach Karachi today at 11 am.

Aamir Liaquat’s ex-wife Syeda Bushra Iqbal shared a post on her social media networking site where she expressed grief and said that final rituals of her ex-husband will be performed after Friday prayers at the Shrine of Abdullah Shah Gazi at 3 pm. She added that his children refused to have their father’s postmortem.

On the other hand, a letter was handed over by the Police chief to the founder of Chhipa Welfare Association Ramzan Chhipaat at 4 am where it was mentioned that Aamir Liaquat’s body should not be handed over to his family. Police have asked Aamir Liaquat’s family to conduct an autopsy.

Previously Syed Aamir Liaquat Hussain was found unconscious at his residence in Khudad Colony, later confirmed dead by the administration of a private hospital.

The deceased was taken to a hospital after being found unconscious by the police officials at his residence. The reason for his death has not been disclosed by the doctors.

The ongoing national assembly session was adjourned in respect of the deceased. Aamir Liaquat was previously affiliated with Bol News and a few other media channels.

Aamir was first elected as the MNA of Pakistan in the 2002 general election on the ticket of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) from the NA-249 constituency and was appointed as Minister of State for Religious Affairs.

He served as Minister of State for Religious Affairs until July 2007, when his party urged him to quit both his position and his National Assembly seat. He was expelled from MQM later that year.
