The new site, NashStore, is meant to take the role of Google Play; which allows Android users to download programmes for their phones. Since March 10, Google has prevented Russian users from purchasing apps from the Play Store; one of several companies that have dropped out of Russia since Moscow invaded Ukraine.

On Russia’s Victory Day last week, NashStore began accepting software developer applications; with consumers able to begin downloading on Monday. However, NashStore warned on its official Telegram channel Monday that hackers have inundated the site with traffic, making it slow and potentially inoperable for users.
